Some reasons why it can be worth while to choose to be in Tamil Nadu, and specially in Chennai, the capital.
The reasons are not only Academic, they are also Economic.
Tamil Nadu is the fifth largest contributor to India's GDPand the most urbanised state in India. The state has the highest number (10.56%) of business enterprises in India, compared to the population share of about 6%.
It is one of the foremost states in the country in terms of overall development. It is home to many natural resources, rare flora and fauna, grand Hindu temples of Dravidian architecture, beach resorts, multi-religious pilgrimage sites and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The state's literacy rate increased from 62.66% in 1991 to 73.47% in 2001.which is well above the national average.
Tamil Nadu has 19 Universities, 250 engineering colleges and 1150 arts college, 2550 schools and 5000 hospitals. Some of the reputed institutes include University of Madras, IIT Madras, Anna University,VIT Vellore,SRM University,PSG Tech, CMC Vellore, Madras Medical College, Stanley Medical College, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS).
Also Tamil Nadu produces the highest number of engineering graduates in India (around 30,000) every year which attracts many software companies to set up their shop in south India.
While India ranked 128 in human development index calculated worldwide with 0.619, Tamil Nadu has performed well with an index of 0.736 in year 2006, closer to 0.800 which is considered high development and only 0.041 less than 81st ranked China.

As of now, TCS, India's largest software services exporter with headquarters in Mumbai, has its largest development base in Chennai.
"We have 23,000 people spread across half a dozen centres in Chennai. Clearly, the city is the biggest for us. When our Siruseri campus (on the IT corridor) becomes ready in a few months, we will have infrastructure for another 21,000 seats across 70 acres," a TCS spokesperson said.

In the case of Infosys, official data on employment or infrastructure ramp-up were not made available. However, when the Mahindra City MoU was signed by the company in 2006, it had said it would create the "world's largest development centre" here with a seating capacity of 25,000 people.
While Wipro is dispersing its capacity addition to cities outside Bangalore, Dr K Chandra, who heads the centre in Chennai, said, "Of our 75,000 software jobs, 10,000 people are based in Chennai. This is without the BPO operations. Our plan is to increase this further. We will add infrastructure to seat another 35,000 people in the next three years. Our focus now is to divert businesses to other centres other than Bangalore and, more importantly, focus on tier-II cities."

Ditto for Cognizant. Tamil Nadu accounts for over 40% of its global headcount and 50% of personnel in India. As of December 2007, Cognizant had 22,000 professionals based in either Chennai or Coimbatore, out of the 55,000 worldwide. A Satyam spokesperson said, "We have around 9,000 people in the city and we will scale it up by another 6,000 in the next two years. I can’t tell you if Chennai operations will overtake Hyderabad, where we already have 21,000 people working."

Going by the sheer size of plans and approvals Tamil Nadu has received till date, at least 37 IT special economic zones (SEZs) are expected to be built by private developers in the next few years, many of them for software companies planning dedicated campuses. To boot, there are 11 dedicated software parks being set up by state agencies. And over and above, there are 220 IT parks sanctioned by the state IT department. "We have given approvals for 73 million sq ft for IT parks alone," government sources said.
Karnataka has sanctioned the setting-up of only 15 dedicated IT SEZs.

Entrepreneur: Someone who attempts to organize resources in new and more valuable ways and accepts full responsibility for the outcome.
Entrepreneurship is often difficult and tricky, as many new ventures fail.
Entrepreneur is often synonymous with founder. Most commonly, the term entrepreneur applies to someone who creates value by offering a product or service.
Entrepreneurs often have strong beliefs about a market opportunity and organize their resources effectively to accomplish an outcome that changes existing interactions.
Some observers see them as being willing to accept a high level of personal, professional or financial risk to pursue that opportunity, but the emerging evidence indicates they are more passionate experts than gamblers.
Business entrepreneurs are viewed as fundamentally important in the capitalistic society. Some distinguish business entrepreneurs as either "political entrepreneurs" or "market entrepreneurs," while social entrepreneurs' principal objectives include the creation of a social and/or environmental benefit.
Business entrepreneurs who adhere to Cultural Creative values are defined as innerpreneurs as their principal objectives include personal development and social change.
Be the change...
